Hi Robert - that's amazing! I've found it oddly difficult to find information on it, which is odd as it was used by the BBC and ITN in the UK and CNN and others. I'd love to see the old software running in an emulator, but that's beyond me and, I fear, too niche!
best wishes, Giles

I enjoyed stumbling across this blast from the past. I started my engineering career at CNN Atlanta in 1994 where there was a BASYS terminal in nearly every corner of the CNN Center. TBH the bulk of my time on the system occurred during my breaks as I was fascinated by the wealth of information that was constantly being updated. I recall thinking how useful something like that would be if only we could make it portable for all consumers!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge on this almost forgotten topic!

Hi Stu! Great to hear from you and thank you for information! I'd love to get my hands on a training manual for users, but I don't suppose you'd have seen one of those?
best wishes

This was very interesting to find as I was one of engineers that installed the BASYS system into Bush House.
It originally ran on DEC 6100 and VT420 terminals, having replaced the original ITT 16/440 EDiT system.
